minkpink jumper (via market hq) / current/elliot jeans / converse shoes

Blake and I shot these photos on Monday, which was the day after my sister's wedding. It was a beautiful night, and I was lucky enough to be her maid of honour. Held at the beautiful Dunbar House at Watson's Bay, everything was simply amazing.

You can see in these photos my hair in still (partly) in its wedding up-do. In fact I didn't actually take it out until yesterday, I really liked the volume it gave my usually flat hair. I also got shellac nails, which I am now in love with. They just endure anything , perfect if you're after that just manicured look for more than a day or so.

I adore this Minkpink jumper from Market HQ, it is the perfect piece to just throw on with jeans on a lazy kind of day, which this definitely was.

So this is probably the most self indulgent post in the history of blogging, like 'which thousand dollar designer bag should I get?', but it's my blog so I'm not caring right now. Since I found out I was going to Singapore, my first goal was to obtain a designer bag and my thoughts immediately strayed to Mulberry. I am a huge fan of their timeless pieces, and even have their SS campaign as my computer wallpaper.

I am a little torn as to which bag I should get. Of course they come in various colours. I am very partial to the Bayswater in either black or grey, but I also can't go past the Alexa. And then there is the Del Rey, which is new on the scene, and is a really lovely shape. Eughhh, what do you guys think?

I wore this outfit on the fifth day of MBFWA. My first day actually being there was the fourth day, so I wasn't lagging as much as everyone else - not that I blame them, I was exhausted after only two days!

I got this title because someone that took my picture on this day said to be they loved the 'sea mist green'. I had just been calling it 'mint' prior to this, so I liked the different take on the colour. I bought this online from Topshop, because of course, pastels are the thing this season. It strikes me as hilarious that Australia is the only country where designers show collections featuring trends that are already out in the cheaper stores, because they have just nabbed them from the international runways. It makes me feel really backwards sometimes, and I know other people feel the same way. Like, pastels are in store at the moment, but the new collections won't be out for another six months - it's just a little silly, but I guess they can't really help it!

I had a ball at MBFWA, and I met so many bloggers I hadn't previous had the pleasure of being acquainted with, so it was all great fun. Despite waiting in the lines for forty minutes - that bit, not as glamourous as you might think, am I right? ;)

MBFWA // day three

Day three, Wednesday, was packed with more fantastic shows and designers than you could poke a stick at. I have picked the three to review that I personally loved and that I believe will resonate best with my readers. I hope you are enjoying reading my reviews as much as I am enjoying writing them. It has been a blast so far, looking at every collection and really analysing the hell out of it. So without further ado, I wish to present, MBFWA day three...

Alice McCall

Photobucket

Alice McCall's Hungarian, folk inspired collection was a welcome change from the sea of peplums and romantic prints. This was one of my favourite collections, because it all came together so beautifully. The hair, the make u, the fresh faced models, all inspired an air of youthfulness - and that's before you even see the clothes. While the popular trends were all there - sweetheart necks, cropped pants, lampshade skirts -, but they weren't so obvious. The beautiful and abstract designs took you on a journey to another country, a mix of Russian and Hungarian eclectic designs, the culture was evident in every seam. This is the best Alice McCall collection I have seen in a long time.

An Ode to No One

This year, AOTNO wasn't as loud as usual, but still produced a beautiful myriad of silk prints and classic shapes. The geometric designs are unique to them, and stand out among a sea of similar prints from other collections. I enjoyed the colour palette, and the splash of orange here and there was effective in breaking up the more neutral tones. Everything in this collection was wearable, which in the end, is all the designers want - someone that will wear their clothes. Well - they've got me.

Ellery

Photobucket

I had a burning passion to attend this collection as I have always been a fan of Kym Ellery's flawless knack for structure and shape in her designs. While, of course, I loved the block colours and structured shoulders, my favourite part of this collection was the slightly Asian style prints in the fine black flowers on a white background. My favourite piece is the one above with the turquoise top and black skirt - and basically any other instance where they use this colour throughout the collection. Ahhhhhh I'm such a fangirl.

MBFWA // day two

Day two of MBFWA proved to be one of the most inspiring, with gorgeous designs flowing from nearly every collection on show. A personal favourite of mine was Zimmermann, because it is pretty much my favourite Australian label and has been for a long time. It was the one show I REALLY wanted to go to, but sadly I missed out. Oh well - maybe next year!

Zimmermann

Beautiful feminine prints and flowing dresses by Zimmermann. This collection was vaguely familiar to their last, but still beautiful none the less. I loved the textures and cut outs in some of the pieces. This was their resort collection so there was quite a bit of swimwear, which I of course, loved. The flattering cuts and prints will be perfect when the weather warms up again.

Toi Et Moi

Photobucket

I was actually invited to this show, but sadly due to interning I wasn't able to go. However it was still one of the standout collection's of the day for me. The colours were earthly, such as black, brown, gold and orange and the texture's fascinating, sequins, leather - the whole deal! I also loved the re-introduction of stripes, something that is in pretty much every SS collection, but there wasn't much of this year. They have really upped their game this year, and their collection is more timeless than ever.

Toni Maticevski

Photobucket

One of the reasons I loved this show was because it wasn't drenched in colours or prints like many of the other SS collections. It was simple and elegant and the neutral palette was a refreshing change. The structure of some of these pieces was just stunning, particularly in the shoulder work, and the many many peplums that were on display. As a breakout collection 'Maticevski' was truly, a marvel.
